As we reach soon the end of August, many have been asking when we will shift back to the kimono rental period…

The answer is: September!

As you can both rent kimono and yukata, we can say that next month is your lucky magical month!! The only period of the year that allows the curious people to be satisfied by offering the possibility to try both types of traditionnal Japanese clothes!!^^

We could say for making it easy that yukatas are made for the warm summer temperature as much as kimonos are made for the other seasons and colder temperature.

More precisely, we could mention that there is no need of wearing the nagajuban (kimono underwears) with a yukata. Yukata can be used directly on the skin or for sleeping compared to kimono that do not allow those casualties. Made for staying fresh under the heat,

According to the kanjis, yukata used to dress people after they took a bath. Soon the light-weight and convenience of the dress became popular and many people started to wear them casually. Nowadays we see them especially in summer when the weather gets very hot. For example, people wear a yukata when they go to the onsen, go to festivals, see fireworks, or simply to take a walk through the city.
