We are going to introduce some sightseeing spots in Shinjuku that can be enjoyed even on rainy days!
 

Shinjuku is convenient for shopping because there are several shopping complex directly connected to the station, but there are many other indoor sightseeing spots as well!

Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building Observation Decks

The first destination is the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building Observation Decks, which is one of Tokyo’s most visited tourist attractions!
“Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building”, which features two towers, can be accessed from Shinjuku Station via the underground rotary, so you’ll be save and not getting wet from the rain!
The observation decks are divided into two, the north deck and the south deck, both of which can be visited for free!
 

There are souvenir shops and the restaurant “Good View Tokyo” on the north observatory deck, where you can enjoy your meal while looking at the cityscape of Tokyo.
There is cafe “Tokyo Cafe 202” and an event space on the south observatory deck, please visit both observatory decks to see the different scenery of Tokyo.
The view of the observation room on a clear day is certainly wonderful, but on a rainy day, you can feel a different atmosphere of Tokyo.
The night view is also fantastic, so we also recommend you to go see it at night!

Shinjuku Piccadilly Cinema

The next destination is a famous movie theater, “Shinjuku Piccadilly”.
 

Piccadilly Cinema can be accessed indoors from Shinjuku Station, so it is a good place to visit on rainy days without getting wet because of the rain!
There are also umbrella holders on the seats so you don’t have to worry about where to put your umbrella ♪
Shinjuku Piccadilly Cinema is known as a “female friendly” cinema!
It is very wide and beautifully designed, and the seats are not cramped, very comfortable for women!
 

A wide range of live movies are available, from Japanese movies, Hollywood movies and animated movies (anime) .
Also, Piccadilly Cinema has special seats, platinum seats and platinum rooms, so you can relax in the cinema and enjoy the luxurious side of it.

Ninja Trick House In Tokyo

If you want to have fun while moving your body, “Ninja Trick House” is must-visit!
A leisure facility where you can have a ninja experience in the middle of Kabukicho area, just a few minutes walk from Shinjuku Station East Exit!
The instructors will teach you some ninja techniques (Ninjutsu), show you how to throw shurikens, and some sword tricks.
 

This is a popular spot especially for families with children!
It will be fun as well to go with your friends or your girlfriend/boyfriend!
The interior of the mansion is very elaborate, lacquered torii will welcome you at the entrance, and the ninja dojo complete with the Japanese swords/katana is waiting for you!!
The ninja instructor is as agile and cool as the real ninja!

LUMINE the Yoshimoto

Let’s enjoy the comedy live at [LUMINE the Yoshimoto], a place full of laughter in Tokyo!
Located on the 7th floor of “LUMINE 2”, it is directly connected to JR Shinjuku Station!
When you arrive by elevator, there is a theater on the left side, and there is Yoshimoto Entame Shop where you can purchase the comedian’s signature goods and souvenirs.
Even if you don’t enter the theater, it is still fun to see interesting goods at the store!
 

On the 7th floor there are event posters, crane games and photo booth corner, so you can keep up with the entertainers’ current news and Yoshimoto event informations!
LUMINE’s comedy live features young comedians as well as veteran comedians such as Mister Kanpei Hazama who often appears on TV!
