Kimono
Kimono traditional costume is one of the most prominent features of Japanese culture. Although it’s no longer commonly used but sometimes you can catch a girl dressed in kimono on formal occasions such as weddings or summer festivals…Kimono has many types. Kimono will vary by season, age, marital status, depending on the wearer and events.
Furisode
Furisode are the most formal style of kimono worn by young unmarried women in Japan. This costume has bright colors, colorful, and usually made of silk and luxury. Furisode is very popular in social events such as the tea ceremony, ikebana flower arranging classes and weddings.
Tomesode
Just like furisode, tomesode often worn during social events like furisode, only tomesode for married women. This kimono short sleeve, color and style is somewhat deeper. Tomesode basically can be divided into various categories to suit each social event.
Yukata
Yukata is another form of traditional kimono. Both men and women wear this in summer season. For special occasions, kimono will be wearing geta wooden sandals and together with obi belts wrapped around the waist. Yukata are often made by lightweight cotton garments with style and colorful. Yukata are worn at outdoor summer events such as hanabi (fireworks) displays and bon-odori festivals. Yukata are also worn at traditional Japanese inns (ryokan), especially after bathing in hot springs (onsen).
Cosplay
Japan is a country known for street fashion. One of the most popular fashion trend in Japanese is Cosplay. Since cosplay is formed by putting together the first part of the English word ‘costume’ (costume) the word ‘play’ (play), explained the meaning of the whole idea for the fashion movement. The fans enjoyed cosplay costumes and often join multiple cosplay costume contest.
Kogal
