In Kyoto, there are 17 temples that are registered as World Cultural Heritage “Ancient Kyoto Cultural Properties”.
This time, we will introduce you to Ninna-ji Temple near Arashiyama station!
Take the Randen train and get off at Omuro Ninnaji Station, it’s a 3-minute walk to the temple.
There’s a special exhibition of Kannon-do, an important cultural property. Kannon-do is a hall for Kannon Statue (Kannon is the Goddess of Mercy).
This is the first public exhibition of the Kannon statue wall painting, and you can see “The 33 Buddha Figure” (三十三応身図) and “The Six-Way Map” (六道図) from close distance.
In addition, the national treasure cultural property Kondo, the storehouse of important cultural scriptures is also open to the public.
Seeing the World National Treasure at Ninna-ji Temple while wearing yukata is surely wonderful!
