★ Kurashiki Canal Traditional Boat Tour ★
The tour around Bikanchiku area is done using two boats, with boatmen wearing sugegasa (a hat made by woven dry grass) and a wide smile on their face (^^ ♪
The Kurashiki Canal is flowing through the center of the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter.
In the past, the canal served as the main transportation route for boats loaded with goods.
Take a traditional rowboat and listen to the story of the boatman while watching the unique scenery of the Kurashiki Bikan are from the boat.
It is also nice to have the boatman explain the main spots of Kurashiki Bikan area ♡
Boarding tickets for Kurashiki Canal Traditional Boat Tour are only available to purchase on the day of your visit.
It can be purchased at a ticket office near the Traditional Boat Tour boarding area.
Basic Information
Regular holiday: 2nd Monday each month (in case of public holidays, we will be operating)
Operating time: First departure 9:30 to 17:00
(Departs every 30 minutes)
The time required: Approximately 20 minutes
Capacity: 6 people on each departure (departure is possible starting from 1 person)
Price:
– 500 yen for adults
– 250 yen for children (5 years old to elementary school students)
(Free for kids under 5 years old / pets are not allowed to board)
The course departs from the Nakabashi bridge of the Kurashiki River, round between Imabashi in front of the Ohara Museum of Art in the north and the Takasago Bridge in the south. The distance is around 600 meters, and takes approximately 20 minutes for one round.
The canal boat tour is very popular!
There are many passengers, and there is a chance that if you come late, you may not be able to ride on Saturdays and Sundays!
The number of passengers is limited on a first-come-first-served basis, so be careful and come as early as you can.
We recommend buying the boat tour ticket first, and then thinking about the sightseeing schedule later ~
