Fall season is the best time to take a walk in kimono ♡
Did you know that there is a place in Kurashiki Bikan area where you can slowly enjoy the Japanese garden for free?
Shinkeien is often used as a relaxing spot while sightseeing and also provides a rental space that can be rented at a low price.
It is popular for holding various events.
Shinkeien complex contains a Japanese-style garden and building, built as a villa of the Ohara family.
And do you know what the best part is?
There is no admission fee!
You can go inside this garden area for free! (^O^)
Shinkeien garden is said to be made by the best gardener in the Meiji and Taisho era.
Inside the building, there is a 56-tatami hall, “Keikendo.”
It has splendid beam, and the high ceiling gives it an elegant feeling.
You can relax while looking out at the beautiful garden from the spacious Japanese-style room of 56 tatami mats.
The inside of the building has been renovated, but the main framework remains the same as when it was established.
Some visitors may not be able to enjoy the relaxing time inside the building when the it is used for private event, etc.
Please make sure to check the availability on the announcement board in front of the entrance. (^_^)
In addition, there is a shop called “Yushintei” with Washitsu (Japanese-style room) and tea room inside this complex.
There are 2 Japanese-style rooms (15 tatami mats large) and a genuine tea room.
In this tea house, Shinkeien Sightseeing Tea Ceremony will be held from 10:00 to 15:00 on December 1st!
Let’s wear a kimono from Wargo and take part in the tea ceremony!
